LUNCH APPARATUS

Lunch Cell Apparatus for School

The most awkward place in school for teenagers is the cafeteria. In this space, you are on display to everyone. What you eat, whom you eat with, where you sit, what you do can all be seen. Sometimes it makes people uncomfortable being exposed.

The apparatus is pushing the boundary of an introverted user to the extreme, displacing oneself completely from the exposed setting.

Lunch Cell Apparatus Dimensions

The apparatus has three circular rotational doors also functioning as a translucent block screen. The users can choose how much they want to expose themselves and open up the cell.

Play with Light and Exposure

Playful-ness of the lunch cell apparatus is in lighting. When you completely close off the cell, the lighting becomes brightest and the translucent doors clearly put the user on display through the silhouette. The user is invisible but at the same time, totally visible, blurring the dichotomy of being visible and invisible.
