Old Hanok & New Living
Hanok is a traditional housing form of Korea. In hanok, each space for different functions are physically separated and that distinctive feature cause this form of living to ostracised.
The project starts with turning this disability of hanok into a benefit it could bestow to contemporary living style with a strong desire for privacy.
The core idea of the project is to renovate and reuse abandoned old hanok as co-housing, fully utilizing the organization of hanok with maximized privacy with common space.

New Interpretation
Each room will be occupied by a single family, one-person family of elderly population. Madang and Daechungmaru will be the public place where they can enjoy community activities.
Hanok and Parts
Hanok is consisted of several structural parts. It is one of its distinctive characteristics. In this campaign, donation can be made in the units of these parts. Each donor will have their name engraved in the structure parts they donated. In this way, the understanding regarding Hanok can improve among participants.
